If you are looking for jobs in recreation then this is the best time of the year to apply. Recreation complexes, city halls and summer camps are hiring for the upcoming season.  The following positions opened this week:

Port Moody – Kayak Kids Camp Instructors at Rocky Point Kayak
Port Moody – Aquatic Leader II at City of Port Moody
Port Moody – Summer Camps: Art / Science / Lego Stop Motion Instructors at Koko’s
Burnaby – Community Fine Arts Instructor at Shadbolt Centre for the Arts

Many summer jobs are offered with an aid from the 2015 Canada Summer Jobs Grant that helps students and youth to get their first job experience, make extra cash and start growing their own network. The eligibility criteria is as follows:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age at start of employment
  • Registered as a full time student this year and intends to return to school full time during the next academic year
  • A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations
